Step 02 - Continuing Swimming During the DOYRMS Closure
As we prepare for the closure of the swimming pool at The Duke of York’s Royal Military School (DOYRMS) for essential maintenance, we want to ensure that swimmers and families have the opportunity to continue their swimming journey with us during this period. We have worked really hard to aquire two additional venues that will meet the needs of majority of our swimmers. Keep reading for further details!
Final Swim at DOYRMS
Last day of lessons: Sunday, 23rd March 2025
Closure begins:Monday, 24th March 2025
One-Off Bookings – 24th March to 7th April
From Monday, 24th March 2025, we will be introducing one-off Group and Private Lesson bookings at our alternative venues in Whitfield to allow families to continue swimming until the Easter break (7th April).
These sessions will be available to all swimmers currently enrolled in regular weekly lessons, allowing them to keep progressing during the transition period.
Our alternative facilities in Whitfield have been carefully selected to accommodate all ability levels.
More details about these locations will be shared soon.
Regular Weekly Lessons – From 23rd April Onwards
From Tuesday, 23rd April 2025, we will be restarting regular weekly Group Lessons at our alternative venues.
- Swimmers that continue in a newly selected class will swim weekly with us at these venues until we return to DOYRMS in July 2025.
- Swimmers that wish to pause during the closure but return once DOYRMS reopens will be prioritised when we restart lessons at DOYRMS.
- Swimmers that wish to finish completely will be removed from our system and will not be offered priority when we return.
Selecting your new weekly lesson time for 23rd April onwards will be shared soon.
Families with Multiple Swimmers
We recognise that some families will have children in different stages, which may result in swimmers being at different venues or requiring different lesson times and days. While we understand this presents a challenge, our primary goal is to continue offering high-quality swimming lessons that provide challenge, development, and progression despite the closure at our main location.
Our team is here to support you, and we will do our best to accommodate schedules where possible. However, we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate this transition together.
Group Lesson Pricing
We have tried our best to find alternative options to allow swimmers to continue and progress during the DOYRMS closre, including building our own small facility! Due the to the increase in venue costs and a reduced student-teacher ratio of 1:3 at our one of our venues, we have had to amend our pricing accordingly for our beginner stages.
Group Lessons
- Seahorses, Stage 1 & Stage 1+: £15.00 per lesson
- Stage 2 and above (including Stage 6/7 & Fitness): £10.50 per lesson
- Stage 6/7 and Fitness sessions will also continue throughout the closure at £10.50 per lesson.
We have been able to maintain the current pricing for Stage 2 and above due to the second venue we will be using, where we can continue to deliver the same student ratio of 1:10 (Stage 2-5) continuing our regular class sizes from the DOYRMS.
Private Lessons
- Available on a one-off basis throughout the closure period.
- Regular private lessons will pause at DOYRMS and resume upon reopening in July 2025.
- Pricing remains the same.
- Instructor Updates: Over the coming weeks, instructors will be updating all private lesson swimmers. The stage assigned to each swimmer will determine which location they can continue at and whether a group lesson alternative is available.
Learn to Compete & Competitive Sessions
For those participating in our competitive pathway, further details regarding your new hours and venue changes will be sent via email.
